Space Jump Response

                   SPACE JUMP RESPONSE

At the beginning of the Space Jump video, i was asking myself a lot of questions, some of which were answered later in the video....First off, why was this man (Felix Baumgartner) doing this jump in the first place? How fast would he be going on the way down, and how long would it take him to land? How would he manage to land? It was definetly a safety risk, and the chances of him dying on the way down were highly likely. But, then again, there are not too many people out there who would have the guts to free fall from the edge of the earth, possibly plummeting to their death. I could not believe that someone actually did this and survived. This must be a major accomplishment on every level, and he even broke a world record while doing it! Even though this was an extremely dangerous stunt, and a gutsy move, he accomplished it with ease (although with a little hesitation before the jump) and landed softly. I strongly applaud this man for accomplishing such a task!!!!!!!

  1. Emily S,
I like the inclusion of all the questions that ran through your head as you were watching the video. Sometimes the best responses come from readers/viewers intereacting with text by forming questions. You also indicated the questions were all answered. If that is the case, I would have loved to have seen your response further expanded by asnwering the questions and linking sources to them for your readers.

I also think you could break this response into two paragraphs - the first with your initial questions / answers and the second with your opionions starting at, "I could not believe..." The opinions expressed leave me to believe you think there is more to be discussed. For example you mention his jump must be an accomplishment on "every level." As a reader I would like to hear more of your thoughts on this-every level of ? I'm not sure the jump was accomplished with "ease" as we know there had been a lot of research and training involved. Or are you saying it appeared to be "easy" for him?
Final Reminder: some spelling and grammar errors here - don't forget to spell check (minimally) in blogger or best yet, write (and save copies) in a word program, then spell, grammar check and read aloud before copying and pasting into the post.
